Grapefruit-Ginger Winter Drink, beneficial water for the skin

Grapefruit-Ginger Drink

December is the month of festivities, feasts and excesses of small delicacies of all kinds. As you know, at Saeve, we have nothing against pleasure and gustatory joys.

Quite the contrary. However, our last posts have alerted you to excess sugar and bad eating habits for the skin. Pimples, premature aging, inflammation….

So, we have decided today to offer you a little recipe for a beneficial drink with Grapefruit and other miraculous plants developed by our Naturopath, Delphine Baratier .

As long as we enjoy, let's do it by helping our body to eliminate.

We had already written for you a post on this magical fruit: Grapefruit, the twist for oily skin . It's the star ingredient in our Pur Paradisi range, which purifies blemish-ridden skin, regulating sebum and tightening pores for flawless skin.

But grapefruit has more than one trick up its sleeve, especially when paired with another twist buddy: ginger. Let's also invite rosemary and cinnamon for a detoxifying and toning effect with sweet Christmas notes .

Something to boost your mornings and your days in December and Winter with joy and good humor.

Let's go for the recipe!

First of all, be aware that the consumption of grapefruit is not recommended for people taking conventional allopathic treatments. Indeed, Grapefruit can block the use of certain enzymes responsible for the transformation and assimilation of certain drugs. We can then end up with chemical molecules in the blood and suffer an overdose.

If you enjoy eating grapefruit, always do so at a time away from when you take your medication. And if you want to avoid the constraints, you can replace the grapefruit with a tangerine or a small organic lemon in our recipe.

Recipe

It will take place in two stages : a spice juice to be made the day before and a decoction to be made the same day.

5. Pour the ginger juice into an empty glass bottle and keep cool

This juice base can enhance all types of hot drinks. It is also perfect with sparkling water in summer for a "Fresh" effect.

For the grapefruit drink:

• 1 organic grapefruit

• 1 sprig of rosemary or 1 tbsp rosemary in bulk.

• 50 cl of water

1. Place the sprig of rosemary in a saucepan with the water.

2. Heat the water and cut at the first simmering

Your drink will be consumed in the morning to promote elimination and motivate your digestion. You can do a cure before the holidays to prepare for it. You can also consume this drink during parties or the aftermath of gargantuan meals.

The benefits of grapefruit

So if Grapefruit is the number 1 active ingredient in our Pur Paradisi purifying and balancing range, where its concentration in titrated extract regulates sebum and tightens pores for flawless skin, it is no less incredible internally.

Pure Paradisi range

Full of vitamin C, it is an ally to help livers tired by excesses of all kinds. It will promote its natural detox. Vitamin C is a major antioxidant for the body, capable of acting against premature aging and above all of fighting against cellular oxidation, in order to eliminate the signs of skin fatigue.

Vitamin C goes directly into the process of making collagen and fixing calcium for our bones.

Our friend the Grapefruit is therefore really a Skin Friendly of the first choice.

Grapefruit

Rosemary, the eliminating agent

Here it is, a plant from the gardens of our grandmothers that we adore. Consumed in the morning in a decoction, Rosemary first has invigorating properties, which can also replace coffee. And then, Rosemary is also rich in polyphenols and phenolic acids which act as a liver tonic. It will then promote the elimination of toxins from alcohol and possibly cigarettes.

But that's not all ! Rosemary will increase the secretion of bile to promote digestion. A liberated body for which elimination is favored is direct access to clear, rosy skin. Goodbye pimples, blemishes and gray complexion!

Ginger

Ginger is a magic root. It alone has more than 40 active antioxidants including gingerols. These are present in the heart of the fibers of the root, hence the need to infuse the root rather than the powder.

Imagine the joy and happiness of all your cells with this energy ginger juice. It fights nausea. This will greatly help you if you have eaten too many candied chestnuts. If you experience intestinal discomfort, such as burning or acid reflux, your body will thank you out loud for giving it this natural anti-inflammatory.

Research recognizes its virtues for balancing blood sugar. If you have too many snacks, it's time to take advantage of them. Your skin will really thank you and your collagen too.

However, we draw your attention to people who have coagulation problems or who take blood thinners. It is not recommended to consume ginger in this case.

cinnamon

In the same way as ginger, cinnamon also has tannins to act on blood sugar, food compulsions and sugar cravings.

It is also very effective on the digestive system, calming bloating and flatulence. If you digest correctly, the skin necessarily feels it. Proper digestion promotes good nutritional assimilation and therefore optimal tissue nourishment.

Cinnamon has antiseptic properties: an ally for the skin of people prone to acne. However be careful, cinnamon contains dermocaustic active ingredients. So it is used internally and never directly on the skin.

It is on this very "Noelic" drink that we leave you today. Take care of your body over the long term, including during the holiday season.

Save your skin now and forever
